This part of Holland exudes an atmosphere of peace and relaxation. The North Sea beaches, which are known as the most beautiful and widest in the Netherlands, offer ample opportunity for recreation at any time of the year. The dunes behind the beach with the many bird colonies and walking and cycling paths form a unique backdrop to relax in the healthy North-Holland air.
There is also a lot to do outside the beach life. From the North Sea to the Ijsselmeer (lake), the landscape is very varied and interesting. Colourful flower fields and green meadows alternate and make a stay unforgettable, again and again. Idyllically located villages and historic places such as Alkmaar, Hoorn and Enkhuizen have a lot to offer the visitor. All sights can be easily explored by bike or car via well-marked tourist routes.
